Arriving by Car to the hotel: It is highly recommended that you arrive before sun down. The road to Drake Bay is not lighted and can be hard to follow at night. While all river crossings now have bridges we still recommend a 4x4 as the road is mainly unpaved with large rocks and potholes.
Arriving by boat from Sierpe. There are two departure times for public boats travelling to Drake Bay. The first leaves at approximately 11:30 am and the second at 4 pm. We recommend the first time period (11:30am) as there are many different options and boats leaving at this time can drop you off on the beach near the hotel. Boats leaving at 4pm rotate daily between different companies which makes it more difficult to reserve space and only have one drop off in Drake Bay requiring a long walk or taxi ride to the hotel upon arrival.
What to bring: flashlight, insect repellent, sunscreen, water shoes or shoes that you are ok with getting wet, synthetic clothing made of quick dying materials (not cotton).
